Marian University NCAA men’s hockey (0-2-0) closed out the opening weekend falling to St. Olaf 3-1.

- After a scoreless opening period, St. Olaf opened the scoring just 1:11 into the secodn period.
- Marian responded just 1:04 later when junior Nichoals Cherkowski scored his first goal of the season on a power play. Sophomore Noah Pickart earned an assist on the goal.
- Then with just 2:57 left in the period, the Oles were able to to retake the lead going into the final period.
- St. Olaf was able to build on its lead just 1:53 into the third period to finish the scoring for the game.

- Marian once again held an advantage in shots by a 33-29 margin.
- The Sabre penalty kill had another strong night holding St. Olaf scoreless on six chances, while Marian was 1-for-3 on the power play.
- St. Olaf held an advantage in draws with 41 wins to only 28 for Marian.
- The Oles have won the last three match-ups against the Sabres.
