Marian University NCAA men’s ice hockey  (0-2-1, 0-1-0 NCHA) dropped its first game of NCHA play to No. 3/3 Adrian 5-1.
 

• The Bulldogs had two quick strikes separated by just 2:05 to take a 2-0 lead in the first period.
• After a quiet third period, the third period was filled with special-teams goals.
• The Bulldogs took a 3-0 lead at the 7:30 mark with a power-play goal.
• Marian was able to find the back of the net at the 9:54 mark with a power-play score from junior Nolan Flint.
• Sophomore Brendan Bottem and senior Noah Pickart each picked up an assist on the play.
• A second Bulldog power-play goal and an empty-net score in the final minute set the final at 5-1.

• Marian was outshot 41-25 for the game with the Sabres outshooting Adrian 12-10 in the final stanza.
• Adrian finished 2-for-5 on the power play, while Marian had one score on just as many chances.
• The Bulldogs had 34 wins on face-offs to only 24 for Marian.
•  Marian falls to 5-36-2 against Adrian with six straight losses all-time.

	Junior Nolan Flint scored his first goal of the game and was 7-for-11 on draws.
	Sophomore Nicholas Von Kaufmann (0-1-1) made 36 saves including on all 19 shots he saw in the second period.
	Senior Noah Pickart had a team-high three shots and an assist.
