Marian University men’s volleyball (4-14, 0-6 NACC) took a set from No. 16 MSOE but fell to the Raiders 25-22, 25-23, 24-26, 25-11.
- The largest lead for the opening set was only four points when MSOE had a 13-9 advantage following a 6-1 spurt.
- Marian chipped away and only trailed 21-20 before the Raiders scored three straight to put themselves at set point.
- Marian turned away the first two chances before the Raiders took the set.
- MSOE jumped out to an early 11-5 lead to start the second, but once again, Marian was able to battle back.
- The Sabres were able to use an 8-2 run later in the set to take a 20-19 lead.
- The Raiders responded with a quick 4-2 spurt and eventually took the set by the minimum.
- After a 12-11 MSOE opened the third, Marian used an 8-3 spurt to lead 19-15.
- Marian held that lead until the Raiders were able to tie the set at 23-23 with a 5-1 run.
- A kill gave Marian a set-point chance that was turned away by MSOE, but the Sabres used another kill and a solo block to force a fourth set.
- Marian trailed 11-7 in the fourth before MSOE was able to pull away with a 10-2 run.
- Marian had a 42-39 advantage in digs, while MSOE had the edge in kills 57-48.
- The Raiders had 11 blocks to only five for Marian.
- The Sabres had 41 kills and hit .337 through the first three sets.
