Sabre men’s soccer clinches NACC Tournament berth

Marian University men’s soccer (5-9-4, 3-6-3 NACC) is headed to the NACC Tournament after a 0-0 draw against CUW.

  • Concordia Wisconsin had a strong start sending four shots on goal in the first 23:01 of action.
  • The Sabre defense settled in for the remainder of the half holding the Falcons to just one shot on target.
  • This kept the score at 0-0 going into halftime.
  • The two sides traded shots for the opening minutes of the second half but neither side could find the back of the net.
  • The final 10 minutes of action saw just two shots that were off target to preserve the scoreless draw.

  • The Falcons had a slim 12-11 edge in shots and 6-3 advantage for shots on goal.
  • Concordia Wisconsin had seven corner kicks to only one for the Sabres.
  • Fouls were fairly even with CUW being called 17 times to 15 for Marian.
  • Marian is 10-39-4 all-time against CUW with this being the second draw in three years.
  • The draw combined with a WLC defeat against Edgewood earned Marian a spot in the NACC Tournament for the first time since 2022.
  • This is just the fifth conference tournament appearance for Marian in the NACC era, first under Head Coach Keegan Miller.

Junior Tyler Hall (4-9-4) posted his third shutout of the season stopping all six shots he saw.
Sophomore Brayden Johnson had three shots, two which were on goal.
