Marian University men’s bowling finished fifth at the first GLBC event of the season and seventh at the Columbia 300 Western Shootout.
Columbia 300 Western Shootout
- The traditional format saw Marian finish with more than 1,100 pins in the final three sets to finish at 6,331 and open in seventh.
- The Sabres went 1,102, 1,107, and 1,109 over those final three games.
- Marian then had the eighth-best Baker total to finish the event with a score of 3,295 pins.
- Over the 16 Baker games, Marian had more than 200 pins in 10 games with a high of 248 in their 12th game.
- The 248 game capped a run of four straight games with more than 200 pins.
- The two-day total saw Marian finish at 9,626 pins.
GLBC Event No. 1
- Marian had a varsity and varsity-reserve team compete at the first GLBC Event with the varsity squad finishing with 8,007 pins to finish fifth, and the varsity-reserve squad 7,554 pins to take second in the varsity-reserve standings.
- The Sabre varsity team opened with 4,818 pins in traditional play and had a high game of 1,090 in their third game.
- The varsity-reserve squad had 4,610 pins in traditional play with a high of 1,004 in their final game.
- Over the 16 Baker games, the varsity squad had eight games over 200 pins with a high of 266 in their final game of the event.
- The Sabres finished with 3,189 pins for a 199.3 average.
- The varsity-reserve squad had 2,944 pins over the 16 games with a high of 263, which also came in their final game.
Junior Jaysen Spanbauer led Marian at the Columbia 300 Western Shootout finishing sixth with an average of 233.7. He had at least 230 pins in five of the six games with a high of 258. | |
Junior Tommy Reboletti took 22nd at the Columbia 300 Western Shootout averaging 219.3. Reboletti also had a high game of 258. | |
Tyler Schendel led Marian at the GLBC Event finishing fourth with an average of 220.8. He had more than 200 pins in his final four games with a high of 268. |
