Marian University men’s bowling opened its season with a sixth-place finish at the Hammer Golden Eagle Invite.

- The Sabres had a strong start to the event opening in second place after five traditional games that totaled 5,412.
- Only Saint Xavier finished above the Sabres after traditional play with a 5,584 total.
- The Sabres finished with more than 1,000 pins in all but one of the five games.
- Marian had a tougher time during Baker play only managing 3,066 pins over 16 games to finish the qualifying in sixth.
- The Sabres had six games with more than 200 pins in Baker with a high score of 236.
- Marian opened bracket play with UW-Whitewater and split the opening two games falling 232-224 before forcing a third with a 255-237 win.
- The tight match saw Marian fall to the Warhawks by just one pin in the decisive third game at 222-221.
