Sabre men’s bowling continues torrid pace at UWO Titan Invite

The Marian University men’s bowling team earned the top seed at the UWO Invite after finishing with 8,316 pins, 184.8-pin average.

  • The Sabres opened what would be one of its best performances in traditional play finishing with 5,086 pins, 1,017.2 average.
  • Marian had four games with more than 1,000 pins with a high of 1,150 pins in the fourth game.
  • Marian continued to pace the field during Baker play with the highest score of 3,230, 807.5 average.
  • The entire field combined for four games of more than 800 pins where Marian had the top two of those four.
  • The Sabres posted an 885 in the second set and followed that with an 840 in the third set.
  • This earned Marian the top seed and a bye in bracket play, but the Sabres would be upset 2-0 by UW-Oshkosh in the semifinals.
  • The Marian JV team finished play in second after recording a score of 6,690.
  • The Sabres finished at 4,032 in traditional play and 2,658 in Baker play.
  • Marian would run the table during bracket play, to claim the tournament championship.

Rory Clark dominated the entire field averaging 237.2 over his five games.  He had at least 225 in each game with a high of 267.
Jaysen Spanbauer finished third with his 214.0 average and had three games with more than 200 pins.  His fourth game of 277 served as the best performance in the field.
Isaac Judd Isaac Judd led the Marian JV team finishing 20th with an average of 188.2 pins.
