Sabre Field Hockey Suffers First Setback

Marian University field hockey (3-1, 0-0 CFHC) suffered its first loss of the season falling to Ohio Wesleyan 4-0.

  • The Sabres and Battling Bishops went scoreless in the opening quarter and for most of the second.
  • OWU was able to find the back of the cage with just 4:16 on the clock and this one-goal lead held into halftime.
  • The Battling Bishops quickly made it a 2-0 lead in the third quarter with a goal 5:44 in.
  • OWU would close out the quarter with a last-second penalty-stroke goal to lead 3-0 after three quarters.
  • The scoring concluded 4:10 into the final stanza.
