Marian University field hockey (2-2, 0-0 CFHC) was defeated by Denison 6-3 in its first home defeat of the season.

• The Sabres wasted no time scoring just 1:01 into the game when Shaelyn Klassen scored off of a pass from Clara Guivernau Ragghianti.
• Denison responded scoring two goals in the first quarter and one in the second to lead 3-1 at halftime.
• Marian was able to cut that deficit down to one with just 1:46 left in the third quarter when Charlotte Touw scored.
• Another quick strike in the fourth quarter saw Bernardita Antunez score just 55 seconds in to tie the game at 3-3, assist to Touw.
• The Big Red found an answer scoring three goals in a span of 3:16 to hold off the Marian rally.

• Shots favored Denison at a 15-9 clip with the Big Red holding a 10-4 edge in shots on goal.
• Penalty corners also favored Denison by a 10-5 margin.
• Dension was called for 41 fouls to only 33 for Marian.
• This was the first meeting between the two programs.

	Charlotte Touw had a goal and an assist in the defeat.
	Bernardita Antunez scored her first goal of the season.
	Emily Clarey (2-2) finished with four saves in goal.
