Sabre field hockey goes to toe-to-toe with Rhodes

Marian University field hockey (8-5, 1-2 CFHC) put together a second straight impressive defensive performance but was defeated by Rhodes 1-0.

  • There wasn’t much action in the opening half as each side only managed one shot on goal.
  • The third quarter saw Rhodes outshoot Marian 9-2 but the Sabres kept the game scoreless.
  • Both offenses came alive in the final quarter as the two squads combined for 13 shots.
  • Rhodes was able to open the scoring just 1:37 into the fourth quarter to end the scoreless tie.
  • The Sabres were able to get two shots on goal off of penalty corners late but were unable to find an equalizer.
