Marian University field hockey received 14 total points to finish fifth in the CFHC preseason poll.
Maray Washington was picked to repeat as the champion of the conference after taking both the regular season and tournament titles in the inaugural season of the CFHC. The Eagles picked up 30 points and five of the six first-place tallies. Rhodes received the final first-place vote and finished second with 26 total points. Sewanee and Centre were separated by just one point at 20 and 19, respectively. Marian then came in at 14 points, while CUW rounded out the poll with 11 points.
The opening game of CFHC play is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 4 when Rhodes travels to Mary Washington. The second CFHC Tournament will be held November 6-9 at Smith Field where all six teams will compete for the tournament championship. Starting in 2026, the tournament champion will earn the conference’s automatic qualification to the NCAA Division III Field Hockey Tournament.
Marian opens the season at home Sunday, August 31 taking on Transylvania at noon.
