Sabre baseball heads into final week after traveling to Carroll

Marian University baseball (12-21, 6-14 NACC) was defeated by Carroll 14-5 in what is currently scheduled as their final non-conference game.

  • Sophomore Ayden Kanaman was able to come home in the first inning off of a double play.
  • Another sophomore in Carter Scott then drove in sophomore Zach Ennis in the second to give Marian an early 2-0 lead.
  • Carroll responded scoring eight unanswered runs to lead 8-2 after five.
  • The Sabres battled back scoring three runs in the top of the sixth.
  • Freshman Bordy Nolan started the rally with a run-producing single, which was followed by another single by Ennis that brought home junior Marc Jones.
  • A sacrifice fly from junior Keon Booker finished the rally as Marian trailed by three.
  • The Pioneers were able to pull away, however, scoring the final six runs of the game.
