Sabre baseball drops season series with Ripon

Marian University baseball (15-18, 9-9 NACC) fell to Ripon in its final non-conference game of the season 7-2.

  • Ripon was able to open the scoring with three runs in the second inning.
  • Marian answered in the next half inning when sophomore Marc Jones touched home to put the Marian deficit at 3-1.
  • The Sabres took advantage of a two-out error in the top of the fifth to only trail 3-2.
  • The Red Hawks responded in the bottom half, however, putting up another three-run inning to lead 6-2.
  • Ripon then closed out the scoring in the seventh scoring on a passed ball to put the final at 7-2.
  • Marian is 26-41 all-time against Ripon and have dropped the last six meetings.

Sophomore Wyatt Blaskowski allowed just three hits over 2.1 innings of work.
Sophomore Marc Jones scored both of the Marian runs.
Senior Logan Rademan recorded a single to extend his hitting streak to 16 games.
