One inning proved to be the difference as Marian University baseball (3-2, 0-0 NACC) was defeated by Buena Vista 7-4.

- The Sabres were on the scoreboard first when senior Gus Walker was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the fourth to lead 1-0.
- Buena Vista responded in the fifth plating seven runs on six hits.
- Marian was able to put together a rally in the ninth opening with freshman Gavyn Novak scoring on a wild pitch.
- Freshman Ayden Kanaman then plated a pair of runs with a double to put the final at 7-4.
