Marian University ACHA D2 (2-2-0, 0-0-0 NCHL) settled for a split at Trine defeating the Thunder 7-2 before a 2-0 defeat.

GAME 1
- Marian was able to open the series quickly with Dakota Sullivan scoring just 3:43 into the game with an assist from Simon Ellingson.
- Trine would even the score before DJ Horne netted a goal with just 3:10 left in the first period with assists from Ellingson and Devon Butler.
- This 2-1 lead held heading into the first intermission.
- Tyler Bueckert gave Marian a 3-1 edge just 1:02 into the second period with assists from Horne and Ellingson.
- The Thunder responded just 2:21 later but Marian would score four unanswered goals to finish the game.
- Carter Broton started the scoring barrage with an assist from Shay Nolen.
- Eason Nick then lit the lamp twice in a span of 6:08 to give Marian a 6-2 lead after two periods. Ellingson assisted the first goal and Horne provided a helper on the second.
- Butler closed out the scoring with 4:47 left in the final period with a short-handed goal that wa assisted by Dom Pajor.
GAME 2
- Game two was a much more defensive game that saw a combined 13 penalties.
- Trien was able to score just 2:07 into the game for its first lead of the series with a power-play goal.
- This lone goal held all the way into the third period where Trine scored at the 10:38 mark to set the final at 2-0.

GAME 1
- Trine finished with a 40-22 edge for shots in the game and outshot Marian 30-13 over the final two periods.
- The Marian penalty kill was able to hold Trine scoreless on seven power-play opportunities.
GAME 2
- Marian was outshot 48-19 in the defeat with the Thunder recording at least 15 shots in each period.
- The Sabre penalty kill had another busy game allowing just one goal on eight Thunder power-play chances.
