Everyone is welcome! Come celebrate the incredible investment, vision, and collaboration that continue to shape the future of downtown Fond du Lac.
Celebrate the completion of several transformational downtown projects that together represent more than three years of vision, investment, and collaboration.
The centerpiece of the celebration is the completion of the historic Rueping Lofts, located at 183 S. Main Street. Originally constructed in 1879 and remembered by many as the longtime home of Brickle’s Tavern, the beautifully restored building has been reimagined by local developer Sam Meyer into a vibrant mixed use destination. The first floor is now home to the newly expanded Bird’s Eye View Optical, while the upper floors feature seven distinctive loft-style apartments that blend historic character—including restored hardwood floors, exposed brick, original wood doors, and soaring ceilings—with modern amenities.
Apartments will be available for occupancy beginning August 1. For leasing information, contact Meyer Property Group at 920-924-4425.
Bird’s Eye View Optical is celebrating its relocation and expansion with a grand opening, ribbon cutting, open house, and refreshments. Owner Angi Roloff has created an elegant retail environment that thoughtfully preserves the building’s historic charm while providing an exceptional experience for patients and customers.
Just around the corner, Fond du Lac Beer Company will celebrate its one-year anniversary with an open house at 21 Fourth Street Court. Since opening, owner Mike Leb has transformed a long-underutilized property into one of downtown’s premier gathering places. Guests will have the opportunity to tour the brewery production area, event space, and experience firsthand the destination that has quickly become a favorite for residents and visitors alike.
Visitors are also invited to explore the Downtown Art Lot, located at 13 Fourth Street Court. Featuring eleven large-scale murals painted on historic building exteriors, this vibrant public art project has transformed a shared parking area into a colorful destination that enhances the downtown experience. While the murals were completed in 2025, ongoing construction prevented public access until now, making this celebration the official public unveiling of one of downtown’s newest attractions.
Join community leaders, business owners, project partners, and residents as we celebrate the remarkable transformation of this historic corner of downtown Fond du Lac and the exciting momentum continuing to shape our community.
