Richard, Rademan earn Third Team All-Region nods

Junior Riley Richard and senior Logan Rademan of Marian University baseball have each been named Third Team All-Region.

Richard (Kieler, Wis.) earns his All-Region selection through the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) after a dominating season on the mound for the Sabres.  Richard finished the season as the NACC leader for victories after going 7-2 with his five complete games putting him eighth in the entire nation.  He would boast a 3.14 earned run average, third in the NACC, over 57.2 innings of work.  Richard struck out 45 hitters and held hitters to just a .278 average for the season.  He would hold opponents to two or fewer earned runs in six starts of his starts including a shutout against Lakeland that earned him NACC Pitcher of the Week honors and a spot on the D3baseball.com Team of the Week.  He also held Dominican to zero earned runs in a complete game victory.  Outside of the Lakeland performance, he also had a nine-inning complete game against Anderson (Ind.) where he struck out a season-high nine hitters.

Rademan (West Allis, Wis.) had a breakout season to earn All-Region accolades through D3baseball.com.  Rademan finished the season with a .405 batting average that was good for seventh in the NACC.  Rademan finished tied for the team lead with 51 base hits and led the team with his 17 extra-base hits.  He led the team with his 14 doubles and ranked second on the squad with his 39 runs scored.  Rademan was also one of the toughest hitters in the Sabre lineup to strikeout only being retired on strikes 14 times.  On the base paths, he was only caught twice with 13 stolen bases putting him 12th in the conference.  Rademan had multiple hits in 16 games during the season and was held hitless just once over the final 10 games of the campaign.  His best series came against No. 17 Aurora where he was 6-for-7 (.857) with four runs driven in and three runs scored.  He would hit a game-tying home run in game one of that series which led to a walk-off victory for the Sabres.  He also went 3-for-4 (.750) with two runs driven in and four runs scored in game two against Lakeland at home.
