Kathy Redig has announced her retirement after spending the past 27 years with Marian University Athletics.
“Kathy has been a rock for our department for the last 27 years,” said Director of Athletics Tony Draves. “Her efforts each and every day put our student-athletes and coaches in a better position to succeed. Her efforts have touched the lives of countless student-athletes, coaches and administrators in her time, and to say she will be missed is an understatement. While I’m sad for Marian Athletics, I’m happy for Kathy, Mark and their extended family that she now gets to focus even more on being a great wife, mom, grandma and friend to many. Congratulations and thank you to Kathy for all you’ve done to make Marian University what it is today.”
One of the longest-tenured employees in the history of Sabre Athletics, Redig played an integral part to Marian University as the administrative assistant for the athletic department. Redig had a direct impact on every student-athlete who called themselves a Sabre during her tenure. The scope of her impact on the athletic department was wide and vast including monitoring budgets, scheduling busses, serving on the Hall of Fame committee, handling game contracts, and so much more. The true definition of a Sabre for life, Redig will be missed after having such an immense impact on Sabre Athletics. We wish Kathy nothing but the best in retirement, and thank you for your hard work and dedication to Sabre Athletics all these years!
