Readers Have Just Days Left to Earn Opportunities to Win Prizes During Summer Reading at the Fond du Lac Public Library

Like to win prizes? Then it’s time to finish the Summer Reading challenge at the Fond du Lac Public Library. Readers have until Aug. 11 to register their minutes of reading to be entered into the grand prize drawings for youth, teens and adults.

For every five hours of reading, up to 20 hours, participants will be entered into a grand prize drawing as well as earn instant prizes available at the Fond du Lac Public Library. Log minutes either in person at the library with paper cards or online using the library’s Beanstack app.

What grand prizes might a reader win? Youth can choose from a dozen different prize baskets, such as the Outdoor Explorer basket filled with a family pass to the Milwaukee County Zoo, a kids’ fishing pole, kit, fort-building set, and bug catcher kit. Teens, meanwhile, may choose from six packed bundles, such as the Making Memories Bundle with gift cards to Fondy Axe Co. and Fondy Sports Park, an inflatable lounger, Instax mini camera, and more. Adults, meanwhile, can be entered to win either of two prize baskets that include a Kindle Fire HD 8, T-shirt and tote.

Summer Reading at the Fond du Lac Public Library is about more than winning prizes. Exciting activities for all ages are planned through the end of the program and beyond.

Kids and their families can drop in for Bin-GLOW on Aug. 5 at 1:30 p.m. in the Discovery Room to discover a funky glow-in-the-dark Bingo experience; no registration required. They also can visit the Gottfried Prairie and Arboretum on Friday, Aug. 9 at 6:30 p.m. for Birdwatching 101 to learn how to find and identify birds, and more. Bring binoculars if possible, or borrow one from the library. No registration required.
