Comments sought for proposed roundabout
(Fond du Lac) The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Northeast Region announces a live, online public involvement meeting to show proposed intersection improvements to WIS 23 and County T/Easterbrook Road between the village of Rosendale and city of Fond du Lac, in the town of Fond du Lac, Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin.
Attendees will access the live, online meeting via a Teams link on the new WIS 23/County T Project design website. The purpose of this meeting is to review proposed improvements and solicit comments and feedback on the proposed improvements.

This is an intersection safety improvement project. A single-lane roundabout is proposed. The project aims to provide acceptable traffic operation and reduce the number and severity of crashes at the intersection, particularly angle type crashes. There have been five right-angle crashes from 2019-2023, with one fatality and another two resulting in injury. Contributing factors to the current crash trends include high speeds and the failure to find adequate gaps when entering the intersection from minor road stops.
Construction is expected to begin in spring 2029 with a full highway closure and detour of WIS 23 during construction.
