Public Meeting Notice

The City of Fond du Lac, in conjunction with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT), will host a public involvement meeting to present proposed improvements for the following project:

WisDOT Project 4811-00-71
C Fond du Lac, Stow Street
De Neveu Creek Bridge
Fond du Lac County

Stow Street Bridge Replacement Project
The purpose of the project is to address a structurally deficient bridge structure carrying Stow Street over De Neveu Creek in the City of Fond du Lac. The existing structure (P-20-0728) is a single span through girder structure which was built in 1926.

The proposed scope of work includes replacing the existing structure with a new, hydraulically-sized structure, including a minor amount of roadway approach work on either side of the structure. The current preferred alternative replacement structure is a single span, flat concrete bridge.

Construction is currently scheduled for 2026. The section of Stow Street between Taft Street and Wettstein Avenue will be closed to through traffic during construction. Local access to properties with driveways on Stow Street between Taft Street and Wettstein Avenue will be provided as allowed during construction based on contractor’s operations.

To find out about the proposed project, interested persons are encouraged to attend the public involvement meeting scheduled for 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Thursday, May 23, 2024 at the Rosenow Elementary School, 290 Weis Avenue, Fond du Lac, WI 54935. There will be a brief presentation at 5:15 pm. The facility is wheelchair accessible.
