Prepare your pocketbook for the future during Financial Planning Month at the FDL Public Library

Want to make your dollars go further today, tomorrow and into retirement? Join any of the Financial Planning Month seminars planned at the Fond du Lac Public Library.

These programs, set for Tuesdays in October, will help people prepare their pocketbooks. Registration is preferred but not required at calendar.fdlpl.org. Sessions include:

  • Tuesday, Oct. 3 at 6 p.m. – Money Management: learn how to set a realistic budget that can lessen your financial stress with Kimberly Clark of UW-Madison Extension Services. 
  • Tuesday, Oct. 10 at 6 p.m. – Medicare Understood: Join Futurity First Insurance Group in the Mid-States Room to learn about Medicare Part A, B, C and D, and more.
  • Tuesday, Oct. 17 at 6 p.m. – Credit Scores: What is a credit score? Why is it important? Learn how to read your score & how to improve it. Led by Kimberly Clark of the UW-Madison Extension in the Mid-States Room. 
  • Tuesday, Oct. 24 at 6 p.m. – Estate Planning: Learn the basics of estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, and powers of attorney with The Estate Planning Group in Mid-States Room. 

 Fond du Lac Public Library operates two locations: the Main Library at 32 Sheboygan St. in downtown Fond du Lac, and the Allen J. Buechel Branch at 255 Country Lane near Festival Foods. The main library is open daily: Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. Chapter 52 Bookstore at 52 Sheboygan St. is open Monday through Wednesday from 2 to 6 p.m., and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., while the Allen J. Buechel Branch is open weekdays from 2 to 6 p.m., and weekends from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
