Powless earns spot on CSC Academic All-District

Senior Hayden Powless ends his career with Marian University men’s lacrosse earning an Academic All-District award from College Sports Communicators (CSC).

The CSC Academic All-American program recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their efforts both in competition and in the classroom. To be eligible, a student-athlete must compete in 90 percent of their team’s games, be a key starter or reserve on their team, and attain a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.5. They must also hold at least sophomore standing at their institution.

Powless (Green Bay, Wis.) provided consistency to the Marian offense recording at least one point in all but two games during the season. He scored 17 goals and added seven assists on the season putting him fourth on the team for scoring with 24 points. Powless had six games with at least three points including a season-best four-goal game at Benedictine. He also netted a hat trick in the very next game on the road at Carroll. On special teams, Powless netted six man-up goals where all three of his goals at Carroll came with a man-up advantage. He also finished the season with 21 ground balls and caused 16 turnovers. Against Northland, he would force five turnovers.
