A positive new chapter rooted in legacy, continuity, and confidence in the future of foster care.
Pillar & Vine is announcing a new chapter in leadership as Executive Director Damian Lonnee steps down from his role. Since 2014, Damian helped found, lead, and grow the organization. His departure marks the close of a remarkable chapter in the life of the agency and the beginning of an exciting new one, built on the strong foundation he helped create.
For more than 30 years, Damian has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to foster care, foster children, and the families who support them. His leadership has been defined by vison, steadiness, and respect. From the early days of Pillar & Vine, Damian has played a vital role in helping shape the agency into the trusted non-profit foster care organization known for its compassion, excellence, and foster care done differently.
Throughout his 12 years of service to Pillar & Vine, Damian has built a lasting legacy of integrity and purpose. He has helped build a culture grounded in doing the right thing for children in foster care, the families who care for them, and the broader community, bringing Pillar & Vine’s mission of “See, Feel, Act” to life. His influence will continue to be felt in the agency’s mission, its values, and the many lives that have been touched.
As Pillar & Vine looks ahead, Damian leaves with full confidence in the agency’s future and in the leadership of Katlynn Mroczenski, who will carry the mission forward. Katlynn brings a strong work ethic, meaningful relationship-building, and deep connections with children, families, and staff. Her commitment to maintaining the core values of Pillar & Vine ensures that the organization will continue its important work with strength, compassion, ad consistency.
This transition is also a refection of the incredible staff and dedicated board members who have supported both Damian and Katlynn every step of the way. Their commitment, teamwork, and belief in Pillar & Vine’s mission have made this a seamless transition. Together, they have helped ensure that Pillar & Vine will continue providing quality services to children and families.
While Damian’s leadership chapter is ending, Pillar & Vine moves forward with gratitude, confidence, and momentum. His end of summer departure is a positive transition grounded in trust and hope for what comes next. With a strong team, a dedicated board, and a clear commitment to foster care, Pillar & Vine is prepared to continue growing its impact for the children and families who need it most.
