Pasquale joins Marian softball coaching staff

Brie Pasquale has been announced as the next assistant coach for the Marian University softball coach, as announced by Director of Athletics and Head Softball Coach Tony Draves.

“Brie brings so much to our program as a person and as a professional,” said Draves.  “She is well respected in softball circles throughout the Midwest, and we’re looking forward to her making a hue impact on campus and in our program.  We can’t wait for Brie to get started.”

Pasquale joins the Sabre coaching staff after spending time as an assistant coach with the Dennison Silver Hawks Fastpitch Softball Association since 2013.  She has played a prominent role in the development of high school student-athletes during her time with the Silver Hawks.  Through its 22 year history, the Dennison Silver Hawks Fastpitch Softball Association has sent over 175 student-athletes to the collegiate level across all three levels of the NCAA and NAIA.

She also has spent time as an assistant coach at the varsity level for St. Francis High School since 2019.  In her first season at SFHS, she helped lead the Spartans to a second place finish at the IHSA 3A State Tournament.

“I am excited to get my coaching career started at Marian University,” said Pasquale.  “I want to thank Tony Draves and Marian athletics for giving me the opportunity to be a Sabre.  I am looking forward to working with the staff and the team.  Go Sabres!”

A standout infielder for four seasons, Pasquale hit .231 with 19 home runs and 71 runs driven in over 187 games played at NCAA Division I Loyola University Chicago.  Pasquale made an immediate impact in the Rambler lineup earning Second Team All-Horizon League and Horizon League All-Newcomer accolades.  She would set a single-season freshman record with nine home runs in that first campaigned and finished third on the squad with 26 runs driven in over 47 games.  Then as a sophomore, she led the Ramblers with 34 run scored, 26 walks, and eight hit by pitches.  Her final season as a Rambler she played every infield position except shortstop hitting .262 over 43 games while earning MVC Honor Roll recognition.

Pasquale earned a bachelor of science degree in elementary education from Loyola University Chicago in 2016.
