No. 6 Marian ACHA D2 falls to No. 10 Minnesota Crookston in regionals

No. 6 Marian University ACHA D2 (20-4-0, 10-0-0 NCHL) had its season come to an end after falling to No. 10 Minnesota Crookston 7-4 at the ACHA D2 Regional.

  • The Sabres were able to start strong when Simon Ellingson scored just 1:28 into the game.
  • The lead wouldn’t last long, however, as the Golden Eagles responded just 32 seconds later.
  • UMC then took its first advantage with 7:24 left in the period and took a 2-1 advantage into the second period.
  • Marian once again started strong when Serge Simard evened the score just one minute into the second.
  • A Jackson Sweeney goal at the 7:11 mark helped Marian retake the lead.
  • The Golden Eagles responded, however, netting three goals in a span of 52 seconds to lead 5-3 going into the third.
  • Chris Regan was able to help Marian cut into the deficit in the third period with a goal but UMC was able to earn the win.
