Proceeds will support Hand-N-Hand of Northeastern Wisconsin.
Matthews Tire will host their 19th Oil Change for the Better event Aug. 1-5 and 8-12. For every regular-priced oil change performed during the event at all six locations (in Appleton–East and West, Menasha, Waupaca, Fond du Lac and Green Bay), Matthews Tire will donate $15 to Hand-N-Hand of Northeastern Wisconsin.
“Hand-N-Hand’s longtime commitment to supporting families and the community began in 2002,” said Hand-N-Hand Founder and Director Jenny Geiken. “As the only nonprofit in Northeastern Wisconsin that offers specialized support to deaf and hard-of-hearing children and families, Hand-N-Hand is thrilled to be chosen by Matthews Tire! Donations from Oil Change for the Better will go directly to our educational and outreach programs.”
Hand-N-Hand of Northeastern Wisconsin is based out of Green Bay and offers children (ages birth to five) who are deaf or hard of hearing the opportunity to connect in a friendly environment that promotes language, early literacy and social and emotional development. They also offer valuable programs and support for parents and family members of deaf or hard-of-hearing children.
“We host Oil Change for the Better to raise funds for great charitable causes in our community,” shared Trevor Rezner, president of Matthews Tire. “But we also have this event to bring more awareness to the smaller organizations that are doing outstanding work. We hope this event will inspire more people to learn about Hand-N-Hand, share their resources and donate to help them grow.”
Hand-N-Hand of Northeastern Wisconsin, Inc. is a non-profit organization offering education, parent networking, music and sign language classes, community outreach, social events, scholarships and a lending library for deaf or hard-of-hearing children and their families. Oil Change for the Better is an annual charity event held by Matthews Tire. This August will be the 19th Oil Change for the Better event. Since 2012, Matthews Tire has raised over $73,000 for various local nonprofits including Fox Valley Humane Society, Make-A-Wish Foundation, The Salvation Army, Disabled American Veterans Transportation Program, Catalpa Health’s Race for a Reason, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Old Glory Honor Flight, Saving Paws Animal Rescue, Walleyes for Kids, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Child Care Resource & Referral, SOAR Fox Cities, WisconSibs, Breast Cancer Family Foundation, a variety of local food pantries and Wisconsin Veterans Village Association.
