Marian women’s volleyball stays hot with their fifth sweep in a row

Marian University women’s volleyball (8-5, 1-1 NACC) stays hot after their fifth sweep in a row with a win over Beloit 25-19, 25-14, and 25-16.

  • Marian jumped out ahead early with a 12-6 run before Beloit made things interesting bringing the score to 16-12.
  • The Sabres then closed out the game with a 9-6 run to take set one.
  • Marian ran out to a 10-5 lead to start set two and never let Beloit gain any momentum.
  • The Sabres offense got hot and saw their lead grow to 11 with the score of 23-12 before closing out set two.
  • Beloit got out to an early 4-1 lead in set three but the Sabres answered and took the lead at 6-5 and would not surrender the lead the remainder of the game.
  • The Sabre offense would stay hot and jump out to a 14-9 lead which caused a Beloit timeout.
  • Marian would close out the match on an 11-7 run to take set three.

Senior Serina Pehowski added eight kills while recording three block assists and two aces.
Harley Bartels headshot Sophomore Harley Bartels hit a game high .625 on five kills and two solo blocks.
