Marian University women’s tennis finished eighth in the NACC preseason poll after receiving 58 total points, as voted on by the head coaches and sports information directors of the league.
After claiming the regular season and tournament titles, Concordia Wisconsin was picked as the favorite to win the conference receiving 197 points and 17 first-place votes. Edgewood earned the final three first-place votes to finish behind the Falcons with 176 points. Wisconsin Lutheran finished third at 148, while St. Norbert narrowly edged MSOE for fourth by a 132-122 margin.
Illinois Tech and Lakeland were similarly close in finish at 95-91. Marian was able to outpace Concordia Chicago by just one point, and Alverno rounded out the poll with 24 points.
Marian opens the season at Ripon Saturday, Sept. 2 for an 11 a.m. non-conference match.
