Marian University women’s soccer (3-4-0, 0-0-0 NACC) defeated Cornell 5-2 in its final non-conference game of the season.

- The Sabres wasted no time to find the back of the net with junior Kate Mayfield scoring just 5:30 in, with an assist to freshman Daniella Chaname, for the first goal of her career.
- The Rams found an equalizer in the 25th minute but Marian found the back of the net one more time to retake the lead going into halftime.
- It would senior Jacqueline Campos who gave MU a halftime advantage scoring on a penalty chance in the 38th minute.
- Sophomore Emily Gordillo returned to the score sheet in the 68th minute to pad the Sabre lead, with an assist from senior Isabella Goodson.
- The Marian lead was pushed to 4-1 when junior Caitlin Traver scored the first goal of her career in the 71st minute with an assist from Gordillo.
- After a Ram goal cut the lead in half, sophomore Sophia Romo netted the first goal of her career with 4:45 to play with an assist to senior Ashley York.
- Neither team had a shot for the remainder of the game leading to the 5-2 final tally.

- Marian had a 15-5 advantage for shots with a 9-3 edge for shots on goal.
- Each squad had four corner kicks.
- The Sabres had 11 fouls and a yellow card to only seven fouls for the Rams.
- The five goals scored is the first time this season Marian has netted more than two scores.
- Marian is now 1-1-1 all-time against Cornell.
