Marian University women’s soccer received 219 total points to finish the NACC preseason poll in seventh place, as voted on by the head coaches and sports information directors of the league.
Dominican was picked as the league favorite receiving 376 total points with 18 first-place vote. The Stars won the conference in the regular season ago. MSOE and Illinois Tech followed with the Raiders receiving 357 total points and four first-place votes, while the Scarlet Hawks were good for 346 points and six first-place votes. CUW won the conference tournament a season ago and rounds out the schools with at least 300 points at 310.
Edgewood, St. Norbert, and Marian were all able to finish above 200 points with 264, 255, and 219, respectively. Aurora and Benedictine were next finishing closely at 184 and 177, while Concordia Chicago wasn’t far behind with 115. Lakeland (90), Rockford (58), and Alverno (28) rounded out the poll.
Marian opens the season at Southern Maine Friday, September 1 for a 3 p.m. (CT) kick-off.
