Marian women’s soccer clinches postseason bid at Edgewood

Marian University women’s soccer (7-8-4, 4-4-4 NACC) clinched a spot in the NACC Tournament with a 1-1 draw against Edgewood.

  • Both defenses came to play in a quiet opening half that only saw six total shots.
  • Marian was able to strike first when senior Isabella Goodson scored her eighth goal of the season with an assist from freshman Daniela Chaname at the 59:13 mark.
  • Edgewood pressed to find an equalizer and was able to find it with just 5:52 left to play.
  • The Eagles continued to push and had a free kick just outside of the box with 1:10 left to play, but junior Chelsea King was able to make a big save to preserve the tie.

  • The Sabres were called for 10 fouls and two yellow cards to eight fouls for Edgewood.

  • The Sabres also clinch a spot in the NACC Tournament for the fourth time in the past five seasons.
