Marian University women’s lacrosse (1-5, 0-0 NACC) earned its first victory of the season defeating Elmhurst 18-8.

- Marian was on the board first but Elmhurst quickly took the lead with back-to-back goals.
- The Sabres then responded with two consecutive goals only for Elmhurst to tie the game at 3-3.
- The first 10:34 of the second period saw Marian score three of the first four goals to build a 6-4 lead.
- The Blue Jays had a strong finish to the quarter, however, scoring three goals in the final 3:09 to lead 7-6 at halftime.
- The second half was all Marian as the Sabres outscored Elmhurst 7-0 in the third quarter to lead 13-7.
- The Sabres opened the fourth quarter with the first three goals to cap 10 unanswered goals to begin the second half.
- Back-to-back unassisted goals from senior Nicole Stachon would invoke mercy-timing and set the final at 18-8.

- Marian held a 34-27 advantage in shots and outshot the Blue Jays 22-10 in the second half.
- The Sabre defense forced 33 turnovers and held a 21-16 advantage in ground balls.
- Marian scored a season-high six of its goals on free-position attempts.
- The 18 goals scored is tied for the third-most goals in a single game in program history.
- Marian is now 2-1 all-time against Elmhurst with this being the first road win for the Sabres.
