Marian University women’s lacrosse (4-8, 1-3 NACC) snapped a five-game skid defeating Illinois Tech 20-10 at home.
 

• Marian started strong scoring the first three goals of the game in the first 3:43 of action.
• Tech was able to cut its deficit to one, but the Sabres scored four of the next six goals to lead 7-4 going into the second period.
• The Scarlet Hawks played well to open the second quarter and only trailed 8-6 with 2:30 on the clock.
• Back-to-back goals from the Sabres put Marian ahead 10-6 going into halftime.
• After the Scarlet Hawks cut their deficit down to 11-8, Marian scored four of the final five goals of the third period to lead 15-9 going into the final stanza.
• The final 15 minutes was dominated by the Sabres as Marian outscored Tech 5-1.
• Sophomore Cielo Martinez had four of the Marian goals, two of which were woman-up.

• Marian held a hefty 44-19 advantage for shots including a 15-2 edge in the fourth quarter.
• The Sabres finished with a 36-16 edge in ground balls and had a 20-13 advantage in draw controls.
• Marian scored a season-high nine free-position goals.
• The Sabre clear had a perfect game going 19-for-19.
• Marian improves to 4-1 all-time against Illinois Tech having won the last four meetings.

	Senior Nicole Stachon had four goals to go with eight draw controls and five ground balls.
	Sophomore Cielo Martinez had four goals and two caused turnovers.
	Senior Emma Heide had four goals to go with three draw controls and two caused turnovers.
