Marian University women’s lacrosse received 99 points to finish in a tie for sixth in the NACC preseason poll, as voted on by the head coaches and sports information personnel of the conference.
Aurora was picked as the favorite to win the conference with 192 points and 13 first-place tallies. The Spartans narrowly edged newcomer Lake Forest who finisehd with 186 points and seven first-place picks. Edgewood followed in third with 146 points. Cornell and Beloit were the final schools with more than 100 points at 129 and 121, respectively. Marian and Concordia Wisconsin were next in a tie for sixth after each received 99 points.
MSOE, playing in its second season, finished with 66 points. Illinois Tech and Lawrence rounded out the poll with 39 and 23 points, respectively, with the Vikings set to play in their inaugural season.
The top six teams at the end of the regular season qualify for the NACC Tournament with the conference tournament winner earning an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament.
Marian opens the season with a three-game homestand starting with Carthage Sunday, February 23 at noon.
