Marian University women’s ice hockey received 32 points to finish the NCHA preseason poll in seventh.
Adrian and St. Norbert were separated by just one point with the Bulldogs earning 94 points and five first-place votes, and SNC 93 points with four first-place tallies. Concordia Wisconsin and Lake Forest were then third and fourth, respectively. The Falcons picked up 78 points and the Foresters 70 along with the final first-place vote. Aurora followed in fifth at 60 points and Trine in sixth at 49. The Sabres then edged MSOE by just three points at 32 and 29 points, respectively. Lawrence, 27 points, and Dubuque, 18 points, rounded out the preseason poll.
The winner of the regular season will be named the conference champion and take home the Kronschnabel Cup. The top eight teams will then competed in the conference tournament for the Slaats Cup. The Slaats Cup winner will earn an automatic bid into the NCAA Division III Tournament.
Marian opens its season at home against Beloit Friday, October 31 at 3 p.m. to open a non-conference home-and-home series.
