Marian University women’s ice hockey  (2-0-0, 0-0-0 NCHA) completed a sweep of Beloit with a 4-0 shutout.

  • Marian wasted no time finding the scoreboard when senior Logan Crawford was able to score a short-handed goal 13:51 into the game.
  • The 1-0 lead held all the way into the third period before Marian once again had a strong finish.
  • Freshman Jillian Newouse scored her first goal of the year at 6:12 before fellow freshman Yazmine Gonzalez lit the lamp with 2:42 left to play.
  • Junior Olivia Church-Sowinski closed out the scoring with a goal in the final minute.

  • Marian finished with a 22-13 edge in shots and held Beloit to five or fewer shots in all three periods.
  • Neither side had a power-play goal with each side having two looks.
  • This was the first two games for Beloit in program history.

Sophomore Jillian Traver (1-0-0) opened her season with a shutout making 13 saves.
Senior Logan Crawford scored the first special-teams goal of the season and it proved to be the game-winner.
Freshman Yazmine Gonzalez scored a goal in each game of the series.
