Marian University women’s ice hockey (7-13-3, 5-8-3 NCHA) completed a four-point weekend defeating Trine 3-1.

- Marian found the back of the net first when junior Jennarae Bateman scored 9:37 in, assists to seniors Jadyn Gorski and Dayna Jones.
- A power-play goal from Trine with 5:07 left in the first period sent the game into the first intermission tied at 1-1.
- The Sabres retook the lead for good 5:52 into the second period when Gorski lit the lamp, assists to Jones and sophomore Kaitlyn Quinn.
- A power-play goal from Bateman padded the lead with 3:59 left in the period, assists to senior Sydney Schipper and freshman Summer Mullin.
- The 3-1 lead held for the remainder of the game leading Marian to a pivotal three points.

- Marian had a 37-21 advantage for shots in the win with double-digit shots in all three periods.
- The Sabres also had a 29-20 edge for face-offs.
- Each team had one power-play goal with the Sabres having five chances and the Thunder eight.
- Marian has a magic number of two points to clinch a spot in the NCHA Slaats Cup Playoffs with MSOE taking on Aurora later tonight.
- A Raider loss in regulation would clinch the Sabres a spot in the postseason.
- The Sabres are now 5-9-2 all-time against Trine with wins in three of the last four games.
