Marian women’s hockey defeats MSOE in one-goal thriller

Marian University women’s ice hockey (6-11-3, 4-6-3 NCHA) opened its NCHA series against MSOE with a 1-0 victory.

  • Marian wasted little time with senior Jadyn Gorski scoring just 5:08 into the game.
  • It was her seventh goal of the season and she was assisted by fellow senior Dayna Jones and junior Logan Crawford.
  • The Sabres controlled play for most of the game and settled for the 1-0 final.

  • Marian finished with a 22-16 advantage for shots in the game including a final period where the Sabres outshot the Raiders 8-2.
  • The Sabre penalty kill had a strong game stopping all five MSOE power plays, while the MU power play went scoreless on three chances.
  • MSOE finished with a 25-14 advantage in draws.
  • This was the fifth shutout for Marian this season.
  • Marian is now 2-1-0 against the Raiders this season with both wins being 1-0 where senior Jadyn Gorski scored the lone goal.
