Marian University women’s ice hockey (4-9-1, 2-4-1 NCHA) defeated Lake Forest 2-0 in a shootout after a 0-0 tie.

- Both defenses came to play as there weren’t many quality chances in the first two periods.
- Marian had the best opportunity for the game on its final power play but freshman Piper Miller had a shot ring off the post with 3:07 to play.
- Each team had three shots in overtime but the two squads still were unable to find the back of the net.
- Freshman Sydney Magnuson stopped both shots she saw in the face-off.
- Junior Jennarae Bateman and senior Dayna Jones would each light the lamp for Marian to give the Sabres an extra point in the standings.

- Lake Forest held a 41-26 advantage for shots in the game with Marian recording 13 of its shots in the second period.
- LFC also held a slim 32-28 advantage in face-offs.
- Marian had three power-play chances, while Lake Forest had five.
- This is just the second shootout win for Marian in program history, Nov. 21, 2023 at Lawrence.
- The 0-0 tie is just the third in program with the most recent coming Nov. 23, 2019 at CUW.
- This was also the third shutout of the season for the Sabre defense.
- Marian is 1-32-2 all-time against Lake Forest.
