Marian women’s bowling well represented on All-CCIW lists

Marian University women’s bowling earned six awards on the various All-CCIW lists.

Sophomore Kaitlyn Kesler (Plymouth, Wis.) made an immediate impact for the Sabres earning All-CCIW First Team recognition in her first season.  Kesler opened CCIW play placing 10th with a 170.3 average and a high game of 223.  She then dominated the second CCIW event finishing first with a 230.7 average.  She had a high game of 252 and was one of only three student-athletes in the conference with more than 600 traditional pins at the event with 692.  This earned Kesler her first CCIW Bowler of the Week award.  Kesler also finished with an average above 200 pins at the NCAA Division III Invite where she finished third with a 206.0 average.

Senior Elana Rimer (Woodville, Wis.) finishes her career with the first All-Conference award of her career, a First Team pick.  Rimer led the way at the opening CCIW event of the season finishing with a 198.0 average and a high game of 221 in her final game.  The event has still proven to be her best of the season in temrs of average.  She then showed consistency finishing with a 194.7 average at the second CCIW event.  Rimer once again had a strong finish posting a 208 in her final game.  She has had an average above 190.0 pins at two other events this season; Kegel ISBPA Classic and the fourth GLBC event.

Freshman Katie Bialke (Sauk Rapids, Minn.) found her stride as the season went along earning All-CCIW Second Team honors in her first season.  Bialke had a 160.8 average at the first CCIW event of the season but rolled much better at the final CCIW meet of the season averaging 194.0 pins.  At the second event she had a high game of 210 pins.  The second half of the season has seen Bialke bring her average up to 176.1 pins for the season.  The spark for her surge came at the Kegel ISBPA Classic where she had a 211.0 average over four games.  She also had a 185.8 average placing 19th at the NCAA Division III Invite.

Junior Brianna Clemons (Kenosha, Wis.) had a breakout season earning a spot on the All-CCIW Second Team.  Clemons competed at the first CCIW event of the season placing 14th with a 165.8 average.  She has had a strong second half of the season averaging more than 180 pins in three of the final four events she has competed in.  At the fourth GLBC event, Clemons finished 26th with a season-best 194.5 average over four games.  She also finished 12th the NCAA Division III Invite with a 189.5 average.

Junior Delanie Vogt (Horicon, Wis.) was the RESPECT recipient for the Marian women’s bowling program.  RESPECT Award recipients have distinguished themselves as an integral member of the team, their institution and community by upholding the values of Responsibility, Enthusiasm, Service, Pride, Excellence, Collaboration and Trust. The RESPECT Award recognizes the intangible traits a student-athlete possesses that exemplify great character and encourages inclusiveness and a positive culture.

For the second time in three seasons, Head Coach Dan Mueller and his coaching staff have been selected as the CCIW Coaching Staff of the Year.  Mueller and his staff helped lead Marian to its sixth straight CCIW Championship.  After finishing 5-1 at the first CCIW event, Marian dominated the second CCIW event finishing with 334 more pins than the second-place team.  Through the six seasons of CCIW bowling, Marian has had 12 All-CCIW First Team recipients and eight Secodn Team award winners.

This marks the third straight season Marian has had multiple student-athletes earn First Team All-CCIW honors.  The five individual All-Conference honorees is the most since the 2020-21 season, the inaugural season of the CCIW sponsoring bowling.

Marian gears up for the CCIW Tournament March 21-22 from Moline, Ill. at Highland Park Bowl.  The Sabres will be the top seed and open the double-elimination bracket taking on four-seeded Carthage.  The winner of the CCIW Tournament earns an automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament.
