Marian University women’s bowling went a perfect 10-0 at the NCAA Division III Invite and also competed at the third GLBC meet of the season.
NCAA DIVISION III INVITE
- Marian opened the event in first place after going 5-0 in Baker play.
- The Sabres had a 4,781 total with a 191.2 average through those five matches.
- Consistency was the key for Marian as the Sabres had at least 948 pins in four of the five Baker matches.
- Marian was able to keep up its consistent play in traditional play as Marian closed out the regular matches a perfect 9-0.
- The Sabres had matches range from 915-972 to finish the event at 8,520 pins, or a 189.3 average.
- Despite the perfect record, Marian qualified as the No. 3 seed by pin average, falling just 41 pins shy of a spot in the championship match.
- Marian was able to defeat Aurora 4-1 in its final bracket match of the invite with more than 190 pins in two of those wins.
GLBC EVENT NO. 2
- A second Marian squad competed at the third GLBC event of the season finishing in fourth place.
- The Sabres finished with 4,111 pins in traditional play and 2,531 in Baker for 6,642 pins total, or a 162.0 average.
- The fourth traditional match of the weekend saw Marian finish with 925 pins, and the Sabres closed out Baker play with a 191.
