Marian women’s bowling finishes third at UWW Warhawk Classic

Marian University women’s bowling earned a third place finish at the UW-Whitewater Warhawk Classic after averaging 172.4 pins over 13 matches.

  • The Sabres had a strong opening day going 4-1 in Baker play with an average of 873.0 pins.
  • Marian had at least 850 pins in all but one of the Baker matches with a high of 922 in the fourth match against UW-Whitewater.
  • The Sabres had a tougher time in traditional play only going 2-3 with an average of 832.2 pins.
  • Marian had a high of 886 in its fourth match against Aurora.
  • The Sabres were still able to qualify as the No. 3 seed in bracket play but fell to Elmhurst in five games to open bracket play.
  • Marian bounced back defeating Indianapolis in five games where Marian had three games above 200 pins.
  • The third-place match saw Marian get its revenge on Elmhurst defeating the Blue Jays in seven games.
  • Marian had two games above 200 pins with a 217 in the third game and a 202 in the decisive seventh game.

Junior Kyley Olson continued the strong start to her Marian career finishing second with an average of 197.2.  She had a high game of 230 in the fourth game.
Senior Brenna Schiekiera finished 18th with a 162.6 average.  She had a high game of 191 come in her third game.
Senior Zoey Bur took 24th with an average of 160.2.  Bur finished with her top two games going 169 and 173.
