Marian women’s bowling finishes runner-up at Warhawk Open

Marian University women’s bowling reached the championship match at the Warhawk Open.

  • Marian was able to qualify for bracket play as the No. 6 seed after finishing with 6,981 pins.
  • The Sabres were able to make a deep run in bracket play opening with a 2-1 win over Lewis, who is receiving votes in the national poll.
  • Marian clinched its win over the Flyers with a 177-124 win in the final game.
  • Another three-game match saw Marian defeat the No. 7 seeded Clarke.
  • Marian squared off with No. 5 seed Saint Xavier and defeated SXU 194-171 in the second game after dropping the first.
  • The Sabres were narrowly edged by the Cougars 167-155 in the winner-take-all third game.
  • A varsity-reserve squad also qualified for bracket play finishing third with 6,543 pins.
  • The Sabre varsity-reserve squad was defeated 2-0 by the No. 2 seed Trine in its first match of bracket play.

Brianna Clemons led Marian finishing 17th with a 177.4 average.
Delanie Vogt finished in the top 20 with an average of 175.0.
Abbigail Oldenhoff finished 54th to lead the varsity-reserve team with an average of 162.8.
