Marian women’s bowling finishes 5-1 at opening CCIW Event

Marian University women’s bowling sits atop the CCIW standings after the opening conference event of the season.

  • Marian finished 5-1 at the event finishing atop the conference with 3,409 pins in Baker play and 2,551 in traditional.
  • In total, the Sabres finished with a 170.3 average and 143-pin advantage over its closest competitor in terms of pinfall.
  • The Sabres came out strong in its first Baker match of the event finishing with the highest score in the field for the event at 981.
  • Marian was then consistent in traditional play with scores of 849, 839, and 863.
  • The lone Sabre defeat came in the third Baker match where Aurora finished with a 924-844 victory.

Senior Jocelynn Eggert led the field with her 190.3 average.  She finished above 190 pins in two of her three games.
Senior Brenna Schiekiera had a 202 in her final game to finish with a 183.3 average, good for third.
Junior Elana Rimer finished in 16th with a 163.3 average.
