Marian women’s bowling finishes 10th at USBC Sectionals

Marian University women’s bowling placed 10th out of 25 teams at the USBC Sectionals.

  • Through the first 16 games of the team competition, Marian had a strong start including a stretch of four straight games with at least 200 pins.
  • The Sabres had 3,038 pins to open in eighth.
  • The second slot saw Marian finish with 2,988 pins to slip just one spot in ninth.
  • Marian was one of just 10 schools with 6,000 total pins through the first two blocks.
  • The consistent scoring for Marian continued in the third block finishing with 2,949 pins to bring Marian to 8,975 total pins, good for 10th.
  • The Sabres solidified their 10th-place finish with 2,814 pins in the final block to finish at 11,789 pins.
  • Marian was one of just 12 schools with at least 11,500 total pins. 
  • Through the 64 games, Marian had 15 games with at least 200 pins with a high game of 243 coming in the penultimate game.
  • The singles competition saw three Sabres finish inside the top 100.

Delanie Vogt led Marian in singles play with 1,130 pins, or a 188.3 average, to finish 45th.
Katie Bialke finished 70th with 1,092 pins, or a 182.0 average.
Madison Carriveau recorded 1,060 pins, 176.7 average, to place 93rd.
