Marian University women’s bowling fell to No. 3 Youngstown State and No. 6 Nebraska in its first trip to the NCAA Tournament.

MATCH 1 (No. 3 YOUNGSTOWN STATE)
- Marian hung tough with the top team of the Lansing Regional, No. 3 Youngstown State, only falling 900-830 in the traditional play.
- The Sabres played with the Penguins but a tough 10th frame saw Marian finish with only 74 pins.
- Marian had a quick start in the Baker total pinfall defeating the Penguins in game one to take a 20-pin advantage.
- The Sabres still held a lead after the second game, but a strong third game saw Youngstown State take the lead for good.
- The Penguins would go on to secure a sweep with a 975-929 victory.
MATCH 2 (No. 6 NEBRASKA)
- Marian bowled a better traditional game against the Huskers but Nebraska had a big match to defeat the Sabres 1,032-872.
- Using that momentum, Nebraska quickly found themselves ahead by 99 pins after the first three games of Baker total pinfall.
- Marian was able to cut that deficit down to 44 pins after winning the fourth game 203-148.
- The Sabre rally would come up short, however, after Nebraska won the final Baker game to put the final at 899-843.
