Marian University women’s basketball (0-3, 0-0 NACC) couldn’t overcome a slow start falling to Dubuque 69-41 in its home opener.
 

• The Spartans were able to jump out to a big lead scoring the first 12 points of the game.
• Dubuque would build its lead out to 39-15 at the halftime break.
• Marian was able to bounce back in the final stanza outscoring Dubuque 20-15.

• Marian was limited to 15-of-56 (.268) shooting from the field, while Dubuque was 29-of-75 (.387) from the field.
• The Spartan defense forced 21 turnovers and outscored Marian 29-9 for points off turnovers.
• Dubuque also held a 38-14 edge for points in the paint and 14-4 advantage in fast-break points.

	Sophomore Kiara Williams posted her third double-double of the season scoring a game-high 15 points with 14 rebounds.
	Sophomore Imani Ninham went 3-of-6 from the field for eight points in her first game as a Sabre.
	Junior Alex Ponte also added eight points off the bench.
