Marian University (Wisconsin) will host the 2026 HEDIT Conference on Thursday, April 9, 2026, in the Stayer Center, bringing educators, administrators, and community leaders together for a day of dialogue, learning, and reflection centered on the theme “The Power of Us: Fostering Human Connection in a Changing World.”
The annual HEDIT Conference provides a collaborative space for participants to explore issues of human dignity, equity, inclusion, and transformative leadership in education and beyond. As institutions navigate rapid social, cultural, and technological change, this year’s theme emphasizes the essential role of connection, empathy, and shared responsibility in building stronger communities.
The conference will feature a keynote address by Mohammed Bey, a nationally recognized leader in institutional inclusion and student success. Bey currently serves as the Vice President for Institutional Inclusion at Carroll University (Waukesha, Wisconsin) and is respected for his work advancing equity-centered practices, organizational change, and community engagement. His keynote will challenge attendees to reflect on the power of collective action and the importance of fostering authentic human connection within institutions and society at large.
Check in begins for the conference at 8:15 a.m., followed by the program at 9:00 a.m. The event will conclude with lunch at 12:30 p.m., offering attendees an opportunity to continue conversations and build professional connections.
“The HEDIT Conference creates space for meaningful dialogue around some of the most pressing challenges and opportunities facing higher education today,” George Henze, HEDIT Conference chairperson and Marian University Registrar. “This year’s focus on human connection underscores our shared responsibility to lead with purpose, compassion, and collaboration.”
