Marian University to Celebrate December Graduates

Marian University will hold its December commencement ceremony on Friday, December 9 at 6:00 p.m. in the Howard Sadoff Gymnasium.  The ceremony will feature the graduation of 128 students – 71 undergraduate, 29 adult online, and 28 masters. One of these exceptional graduates is biology major, Kaniala Aargon ’22, who will address his class as their student speaker.

Returning to its traditional, pre-pandemic format, the ceremony will be open to graduates’ families and friends. General Superior of the Congregation of Sisters of St. Agnes, Sr. Sharon Pollnow ‘67 M.Ed., MSW is the commencement guest speaker. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Marian University and has devoted her life to helping people grow in knowledge.

In a letter to the graduating class, Marian president, Dr. Michelle Majewski challenged, “Your education here at Marian prepared you for the future, but it is only one chapter of many that you need to fulfill your life. Your task is to continue your journey in education, whether that be formally through graduate school or more informally through your own efforts to stay current in your chosen field.”

A pinning ceremony for nursing students and a teacher commissioning ceremony for education students will be held in advance of the commencement ceremony. Following the day’s events, graduates and their guests are invited to a celebratory reception in the Stayer Dining Room and Michels Atrium of Stayer Center.

Advanced tickets will be required for attendance. To watch a live stream of the event and for more information, visit.
